Toi et Moi Necklace with Freshwater Pearl and Pear Cut Stone

Two stones set side by side on a single chain. This toi et moi necklace places a freshwater pearl next to a pear cut stone, a pairing that began as a way of holding two people in one piece.

The "toi et moi" name means "you and me", which is why two stones share one setting instead of one stone taking the center.

Stones

• Pearl stone: 6.5 mm natural freshwater pearl
• Pear stone: 6 x 9 mm pear cut stone

The pear cut stone is a high grade cubic zirconia chosen for the way it throws light, giving the sparkle of a diamond at arm's length. The pearl is hand selected so its luster sits well against the cut stone.

Metal and Plating

The pendant and chain are made from hypoallergenic 925 sterling silver, finished with a thick layer of 14k gold plating or rhodium. The heavier plating layer is what keeps the shine from fading after a few wears. The piece is nickel free and made not to irritate skin.

Length and Closure

The chain adjusts from 16 inches to 19 inches. A lobster clasp closes it, and the pendant measures 6 mm wide by 9 mm high.

Care

Pearls are soft, so keep this necklace away from perfume, hairspray and abrasive cloths. Rinse-free wiping with a soft dry cloth after wear is enough, and storing it flat prevents the pearl from rubbing against the metal setting.

Each necklace is handmade to order, and a coordinating ring is made in the same two stone layout if you want to wear the pairing as a set.
